"Took some time but they got it right. My vehicle had a lot of problems to start with, however Leticia Perez was able to answer all my questions and provide daily communication on the status of my vehicle. Thank you very much. Excellent work team! We received TWO 5-Star Reviews on Cars.com!
"Chad Hood was my service advisor when I dropped my Jeep Grand Cherokee off to get some work done. He treated me and my car with a great amount of respect. He got the repairs done in a timely manner and kept me in the loop through everything. Chad did a great job and when my jeep needs work done in the future I will be giving him a call." -- Andrew M.
"My husband and I were looking to buy a family vehicle and had to get out of our current vehicle. We had been to many dealerships and no one would help us or just couldn't help us. We then purchased a vehicle at a local dealership and the finance fell through because of a mistake on their end so we went to Bakersfield Chrysler Jeep. The sales man that helped us (Damien) look at several different vehicles ( for hours) and put up with my husbands 101+ questions. And the sales manager (Brad) was amazing at making the vehicle that we really wanted work for our situation. I would recommend people to go to Bakersfield Chrysler Jeep for your vehicle needs. Not only was Damien and Brad friendly, so was the rest of the staff. They accommodated my children so we could look at vehicles and made the process easy. Thank you again for all the help and I hope that in the future we can buy another car from your dealership. :-)" -- Ashley

Chrysler moves closer to restarting Jeep production in China
In fact, the brand is boosting production in Detroit, Toledo or Belvidere, Ill., where it is adding 4,000 this year.
More China sales means a healthier Chrysler, Manley said.
“For us to continue the growth of the Jeep brand and therefore be successful because of that, you need to produce locally for the local market,” Manley said in a group interview at the Shanghai Auto Show.
Chrysler signed a deal in January with Guangzhou Auto Group to establish a joint venture. Although the company needs Chinese government approval, Manley said he’s optimistic production can start by the end of 2014.
Jeep is well-known in China because it was the first U.S. automaker to sell vehicles there. Former owner American Motors launched the Beijing Jeep joint venture in 1979 with government-owned Beijing Auto Works. Production began in 1985.
Chrysler bought American Motors in 1987 and continued running Beijing Jeep until early 2009.
Cerberus Capital Management, the private equity fund that owned Chrysler, then exited the venture shortly before Chrysler’s U.S. taxpayer-backed bankruptcy.
Two weeks before the U.S. presidential election last year, Jeep was sucked into what turned out to be one very big misunderstanding. Republican candidate Mitt Romney repeated rumors that Jeep’s plan to resume making SUVs in China would come at the cost jobs in Toledo and Detroit. Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne clarified that any production in China would be in addition to Jeep output in the U.S.
Jeep did export 46,000 vehicles in 2012 to China, which surpassed Canada as Jeep’s second-biggest market, Manley said.
Sales in China are limited without local production. Tariffs imposed on imported vehicles and powerful engines, “the majority” of Jeeps in China cost more than $100,000, Manley said.
A fresh wave of Chinese consumers are flocking to crossovers and sport-utility vehicles. Yale Zhang, managing director of Automotive Foresight Shanghai, said the SUV segment will grow from about 15% of China’s market today to 20% in 2015, or from 2 million last year to 3.5 million by 2015.
Competitors are flooding the market with SUVs and crossover vehicles. General Motors recently started selling the Buick Encore, and Ford is introducing the Ford Kuga (Escape) and EcoSport vehicles.
This week at the Shanghai Auto Show, Mercedes-Benz showed the GLA concept vehicle.
For Jeep, Chinese production would reduce shipping costs and bring prices into a competitive range.
Manley said the new Cherokee, which will go on sale in the U.S. by late September, likely will be Jeep’s first vehicle produced in China.
Manley said he hopes to expand Jeep’s China dealer network from about 150 today to 200 by the end of the year. In addition, Jeep already has more than 200 licensed retail stores selling Jeep merchandise, including the Jeep Spirit line of sport clothing.
Owners of Cherokees purchased in the years before the 2009 Beijing Jeep shutdown have formed Jeep clubs, proving that its legacy resonates.
"Awareness of the brand is huge," Manley said.

Great job team, we a great review on Yelp!
"We ran into car problems about an hour outside of Bakersfield and luckily were able to make it to Bakersfield Chrysler jeep. Even though we got there very late in the day (4pm) and they had a very hard time tracking down a replacement belt in town (they ended up finding one at an auto parts store on the edge of town) they were still able to get our car in and out the same day, all because they had a mechanic stay late to work on it (all at no extra cost). It was a huge blessing and Bakersfield Chrysler Jeep definitely went above and beyond what they had to do....and we really appreciate it!!!
John in their service department is great!" -- C G.Click HERE to read more customer reviews on Yelp!

Chrysler considering an EcoDiesel 300 sedan
According to Mr. Chehab, the hanging point on the Chrysler 300 EcoDiesel is cost and final pricing. The EcoDiesel option in the 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee costs $4,500-5,000 depending on the trimline and if the price hike for the EcoDiesel was near the same price point, it could prove to be too much for large luxury sedan buyers. The costs of the EcoDiesel in the new Grand Cherokee (and the upcoming Ram 1500) is justifiable because it is not only very efficient but it is also very powerful so buyers can enjoy the fuel economy of a V6 with the towing and hauling capabilities of a V8. That is ideal for many large SUV and half ton truck buyers but the majority of new Chrysler 300 buyers probably arent that concerned about the ability to tow so there isnt the same level of benefit of having the EcoDiesel in the 300 as there is for the Grand Cherokee or Ram.
The current Chrysler 300 sedan is available with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 or the 5.7L Hemi V8. The Pentastar offers 292 horsepower and 260lb-ft of torque while the Hemi packs 363 horsepower and 394lb-ft of torque. For comparison, the 2014 Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel packs 240 horsepower and 420lb0-ft of torque but more importantly, the EcoDiesel is the most efficient engine in the Jeep lineup. We can expect that the 3.0L V6 diesel would also be the most efficient option in the 300 sedan lineup but it stands to be seen whether the sedan market would be as memorized by the work horse abilities of the low horsepower, high torque turbo diesel. While Jeep and Ram owners can appreciate the towing capacity of the EcoDiesel while bracing for the $4,500-5,000 price tag, Chrysler 300 owners will most likely be buying the diesel option primarily for the fuel mileage and $5,000 might be too steep a price for a couple extra MPGs.
In addition to the fact that the Chrysler 300 is sold overseas as the diesel-powered Lancia Thema coupled with the arrival of the EcoDiesel Grand Cherokee – there is also the point to be made that Fiat loves diesel engines. Company chief Sergio Marchionne has frequently shown favor for super efficient modern diesel engines over costly hybrids and with the success of diesel powered Fiat family models in Europe, perhaps even the highest company brass would like to see an EcoDiesel powered sedan here in the US.

Jeep unveils 9-speed transmission for Cherokee
Chrysler says the new Cherokee gets "up to 31 mpg," which is certainly better than the 19 miles per gallon combined that the six-speed, two-wheel-drive 2013 Cherokee gets, per the EPA.
Earlier Wednesday, Chrysler took the wraps off the 2014 Cherokee at the New York Auto Show, complete with a simulation of a "trip" through Moab in the Trailhawk version. The model will have both front- and all-wheel-driver versions ranging from 184 to 271 horsepower and is based on a platform developed by Chrysler's sister company Alfa Romeo. Check out Chrysler's press release below.
