"We recently purchased a 4 door Jeep Rangler...we are seriously in love
with this car! It's perfect for us and we get stopped so many times by
people that really love the car as well. I have to say that the quality
of the customer service there at Jeep has raised the bar for me! I will
never again settle for other dealerships that make you feel like you owe
them something for coming into their auto mall. This facility really
knows how to embrace customers and still knows how to value customers
and not take their business for granted. Our wonderful experience came
mostly with dealing with DAVID the car salesman....he is the first
genuine car salesman I have ever met. You instantly sense his sincerity
and his knowledge in the cars was quite amazing! He knew the ins and
outs of both cars we test drove. Our hearts immediately melted for him.
He became our friend by the end of the day. He is a wonderful man who
deserves nothing but great things and we are praying that God would
bless him beyond measure. We would highly recommend this dealership
along with their staff (DAVID). They will treat you very well. I hope
all the salesman there are as great as David...but one thing is for
sure...you can't fake the gentle heart that he has. Seriously love that
guy. A big thanks to Jeep and to David." -- Jimmy and Rubi Z.

We received a 5-star review on Yelp
"In the middle of nowhere (central California to be somewhat exact), my
engine malfunction light came on. "Malfunction" is never something good
to think about unless an ATM machine is malfunctioning and making it
rain, but this wasn't the case. The Jeep manual doesn't say much more
than "hey it might be nothing" or "this could be serious, pull over
immediately", so I got off the 5 and headed towards nearby Bakersfield
to see if there was a Jeep dealership.
I pulled into Bakersfield Jeep around 3:30 with a worried look on my face. The mechanic told me it was a little late in the day for a repair since there were a ton of people ahead of me, BUT he told me to wait a second while he went and grabbed the analyzer to give me some more info. Turned out it was a sensor in my gas cap, so I was good to go! I thanked him profusely and I was on my way again! Yay!
Y'know, the sign of good service is when somebody does what they can for you despite being super busy. He could have told me to come back the next day or any number of things, but he took the time to help me out which was very much appreciated by me and my wife. Thank you Bakersfield Jeep! :)" -- Jason W.

Chrysler developing new supercharged Hemi V8
Chrysler Group is developing a supercharged Hemi V8 with power approaching the 640 hp of the SRT Viper's V10.
The 6.2-liter engine, code-named Hellcat, is expected to debut on the next-generation Dodge Challenger and perhaps other vehicles, according to sources within Chrysler.
The engine's existence was revealed on the Internet site Allpar.com and confirmed by Chrysler insiders.
A spokesman for the automaker declined to comment, saying that the company doesn't discuss future products.
The high-output engine is set to debut as an option on at least one version of the Challenger, which also will get the company's eight-speed transmission. Chrysler's most recent product plan indicates that the next-generation Challenger will go into production in mid-2014 for the 2015 model year.
The supercharged engine will help the heavier Challenger compete with the high-performance Ford Mustang Cobra and Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.
Unlike a turbocharger, which relies on exhaust gases to boost the intake air, a supercharger is mechanically driven by the engine and reacts more quickly.
A Chrysler engineer described the high-horsepower Hellcat as a "last hurrah" before rising corporate average fuel economy standards begin to limit engine horsepower and displacements for domestic automakers. The Hellcat would be built alongside Chrysler's 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter Hemi V8s.

We received TWO 5-star reviews on YellowPages!
"Fantastic experience! Great new car purchases with an awesome salesman,
Joe Mays, who contacts you after the purchase to see how everything is
going. Service & parts have been very professional
& friendly as well. Even the general manager, Alex, listens
to his customers & greets them to his business as if they
are his friends. As does the rest of his team. We've purchased many,
many vehicles, but never have had such a positive experience - Before,
During & After the sale!" -- Sue & John
"I had an amazing purchasing experience at Bakersfield Chrysler Jeep! After seeing a commercial on the local news, I knew I was ready to go and purchase a new vehicle. From the moment I pulled up at the dealership through my entire purchasing experience I was in good hands. I was able to seamlessly trade in my current vehicle and purchase a new Jeep all in the same day. I would highly recommend everyone to purchase a vehicle from Bakersfield Chrysler Jeep." -- Kristy P.

Hennessey Turns Its Tuning Attention To 2013 Jeep SRT8
He enjoys turning his power tricks on a wide variety of vehicles, from
crushingly fast Cadillacs to crushingly fast exotics to... well,
crushingly fast anything really. His latest high-speed shenanigans
mobile is the 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8, and his taking it to
powerful new levels.
Starting with the "standard" 6.4-liter-powered SRT Jeep, Hennessey adds the following:
• TVS2300 Supercharger System
• HPE Air Induction System
• Custom HPE Pulley (7-8 PSI Boost)
• Stainless Steel Long Tube Headers
• High-Flow Catalytic Converters
• Ported Factory Cylinder Heads
• Fuel System Upgrade
• High Flow Fuel Injector Upgrade
• All Necessary Gaskets & Fluids
• Custom HPE Thermostat
• Professional Installation
• HPE/Arrington Engine Calibration
• Chassis Dyno Tuning
• Road Testing (up to 100 miles)
• Serial-Numbered Dash Plaques
• Serial-Numbered Engine Plaques
• Hennessey Premium Floormats
• Powered by Hennessey Engine Covers
• Hennessey & HPE650 Exterior Badging
What does this do? Well, it turns the car into the Jeep HPE650 Supercharged SRT8. It also pushes the power up to 620 horses, and helps the Jeep make it from 0-60 miles per hour in just 3.9 seconds. It will also run down the quarter mile in 12.6 seconds with a trap speed of 110 miles per hour. Not too shabby for a heavy Jeep, eh?

Monday Maintenance Tip!
- Do not race your car’s engine during start-up.This is a quick way to add years of wear to your engine, especially if it’s cold outside.
- Accelerate slowly when you begin your drive. The most wear to the engine and drive train occurs in the first ten to twenty minutes of operation.
- Warming the engine by letting it idle in the driveway is not a smart idea. The engine doesn’t operate at its peak temperature, resulting in incomplete fuel combustion, soot deposits on cylinder walls, oil contamination, and ultimately damaged components.
- Put less strain on your engine and automatic transmission by shifting to neutral at red lights. Otherwise, the engine is still working to push the car even while it’s stopped.
- Avoid driving at high speeds and accelerating quickly, especially when it’s very hot or very cold outside. Such driving behavior will result in more frequent repairs.
- Extend the life of your tires with careful driving. Observe posted speed limits. Avoid fast starts, stops, and turns. Avoid potholes and objects on the road. Don’t run over curbs or hit the tire against the curb when parking. And, of course, don’t burn rubber.
- When turning your steering wheel, don’t hold it in an extreme right or left position for more than a few seconds. Doing so can damage the power-steering pump.
- Consolidate your short driving trips. Most of the wear and tear — as well as the pollution your car generates — takes place in the first few minutes of driving. Doing several errands at once, during low traffic hours if possible, will keep your engine happier longer.

Chrysler/Jeep. Our salesman, Joe Mays, wasn't pushy & was very
patient. Everyone we've had contact with from Sales to F&I to

with. We've purchased many vehicles, however this was our best
experience! So much we purchased a 2nd vehicle from them the next day.
