"In the middle of nowhere (central California to be somewhat exact), my
engine malfunction light came on. "Malfunction" is never something good
to think about unless an ATM machine is malfunctioning and making it
rain, but this wasn't the case. The Jeep manual doesn't say much more
than "hey it might be nothing" or "this could be serious, pull over
immediately", so I got off the 5 and headed towards nearby Bakersfield
to see if there was a Jeep dealership.
I pulled into Bakersfield
Jeep around 3:30 with a worried look on my face. The mechanic told me it
was a little late in the day for a repair since there were a ton of
people ahead of me, BUT he told me to wait a second while he went and
grabbed the analyzer to give me some more info. Turned out it was a
sensor in my gas cap, so I was good to go! I thanked him profusely and I
was on my way again! Yay!
Y'know, the sign of good service is
when somebody does what they can for you despite being super busy. He
could have told me to come back the next day or any number of things,
but he took the time to help me out which was very much appreciated by
me and my wife. Thank you Bakersfield Jeep! :)" -- Jason W.
